For over 3 years I worked on promoting myself as well as others on Reverbnation. By promoting musicians I also promoted Reverbnation by using their widgets and posting everywhere!!! I ended up bringing them many new artists because of this They used to be a good site and supportive of their members. If you had a problem they would get back to you within a day and try and solve the problem. These days they don't think of the people that got them where they are. They have become like every other site that gets too big. They cut down on customer service, have more popups and ads on their site and try and sell you 10-25 dollar submissions to contests. Great for them, terrible for us. We used to be able to design our own pages..now everything looks generic. We had a lot more control over html at one time so it was a really fun site. They seem to have some secret formula as to how they rate artists on their charts kind of like what wall street bankers use. Recently all 52 of my songs, over 2,000 fans and all of my show history were deleted. I stared at the page in horror wondering if I could get it back. I wrote to them and asked them if there was something they could do to recover my site such as check logs, backup, code or restore points but they refused to do anything. I decided that I didn't want to have anything to do with them anymore after this and now I refuse to click on any of their links, or unfortunately promote any of my friends on that site. I will promote on other sites if they would like me to, just not Reverbnation anymore. Fortunately there are plenty of other sites around to join.

Well I boycotted Reverbnation long enough. They seem to have certain things at their site they just don't have anywhere else...several different kinds of widgets, email, fan collectors etc.etc. Guess they have a monopoly on these sorts of things. I also know many of the artists there and by quitting I alienated myself from the Reverbnation game...It is kind of a fun game to play..lol.
